Arapaho United Methodist Church has partnered with the Network of Community Ministries to staff volunteers at Dobie Pre-K [Map] to distribute food boxes from their Mobile Food Pantry twice a month on the west side of the building from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. We are seeking help with the following tasks:
· Obtain basic information from clients
· Direct traffic
· Unloading food boxes from the truck (heavy lifting required - up to 20 lbs.)
· Load food boxes into cars
If you are available Wednesday afternoons for a couple of hours, you can help make a big difference in your community. Families are still struggling from economic hardships due to the pandemic. These mobile food pantries provide meals for the unemployed and working poor in Richardson ISD whose children suffer from food insecurities. This ongoing service project is open to adults and teens (when school is not in session) accompanied by a parent. If you can’t make a commitment today, look for new opportunities each month.
