Today’s students face a challenging paradox: the digital tools they need to complete their work are often the source of their biggest distractions. Students can quickly become overwhelmed trying to manage the daily confluence of online interactions with schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and family life.
This one night class will use noted author and educator Ana Homayoun’s book Social Media Wellness as a guide to decode the language of social media for parents and educators and provide pragmatic solutions to help students manage distractions, improve time-management, become more organized, decrease stress and build empathy.
While you don’t need to purchase the book to take the class, we recommend getting a copy (click here to purchase) to read and reference as you and your teenager work to put the ideas into practice to promote healthy socialization, effective self-regulation and overall safety and wellness.
Social Media Wellness, led by David Finley, will meet on Wednesday, February 21, from 6:30 to 7:30.
