Thought revolutions are in many ways the most far-reaching. They affect our entire sense of legitimate authority, of the possible and impossible, of right and wrong, and of the potentials of human life. The European enlightenment in many ways is the birthplace of modern thought of western society. This video and discussion class will examine the conceptual and cultural revolution of the Enlightenment, the birth of modern thought in the dilemmas, debates, and extraordinary works of the 17th- and 18th-century mind and how this affects who we are today.
The Revolution Of Intellect, facilitated by Jim Mitchell, will meet on Thursday nights at 6:30 pm for six weeks beginning Sept. 20th.
