This class brings together leaders in the church who are working on social justice issues in our community to share about how their faith informs their pursuit of justice. Beginning with an overview of the United Methodist Church's position on justice and the role of Church and Society, Special guest speakers include: Joe Swanson (Faith in Texas--community organizing), Rev. Jonathan Grace, (CitySquare--poverty and homeless), Brittany Burrows (Synergy Wesley--gender equality), and Rev. Isabel DoCampo (SMU--workers rights). Join us as we thoughtfully explore key issues today and discern the ways we can make a difference as a community of faith.
Faith and Justice: A Speaker and Discussion Series, facilitated by Brandi Manes, will meet on Thursday nights at 6:30 pm for five weeks beginning Sept. 20th.
