Have you wondered about this thing called "Wesleyan Theology?" And what does it have to do with Methodism? The Wesleyan Roots class is designed to highlight beliefs and practices that make United Methodism distinct from other Christian traditions. The class consists of 12 sessions, broken into 3 units. Unit One focuses on God's abundant grace. Unit Two is all about how we understand the nature and action of God. And Unit Three challenges us to live Christ-like lives, growing closer to God and others. Unit One will begin on Tuesday, September 20, at 6:30 in Room 1.
Those who cannot be here in person are encouraged to participate over zoom. We ask that you register for class so that we can make sure you have handouts for each class session in advance. Since these sessions stand alone (are not cumulative), it's easy to miss one or two sessions if conflicts arise. Each session will include a video hosted by clergy and laity in the North Texas Conference and also a participant guide for you to consider prior to class.
These classes will be facilitated by your AUMC Pastors Scott and Cathy, along with other currently ordained or retired clergy who attend AUMC, AUMC seminary students in process for ordination, and AUMC laity who serve as members of the North Texas Annual Conference.
