Journey Toward Racial Justice

  • Arapaho United Methodist Church 1400 West Arapaho Road Richardson, TX, 75080 United States (map)

The Journey Toward Racial Justice is a monthly gathering that focuses our attention on the injustices of racism. Once a month, we will gather to share, understand, and discuss how our siblings of color - Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latin - have been affected by and live with injustice.

The program will continue once a month, starting in September and ending in June, 2023. In addition to monthly gatherings, we will read books and articles, watch movies, and listen to podcasts to further our understanding of intercultural relationships. Participants will be invited to activities that include a tour of Hidden Dallas, dinners that promote intercultural learning, and watch parties for films and documentaries.

The Journey Toward Racial Justice invites us into vital conversations. The journey challenges us to expand our intercultural competence. Finally, the journey, through the work of the Holy Spirit, inspires us to promote and help to establish institutional equity in areas where injustice and racism continues to impact families and individuals of color.

It's a commitment, yes. You're invited to participate and learn more at the introductory meeting on September 18, immediately after worship. A light snack/lunch will be provided, and childcare is available.
