Altogether Worthy: A Women's Retreat at Prothro Center
In the busyness of life, it’s easy to feel weary and stretched thin. Sometimes, we long for space to breathe deeply, reconnect with ourselves, and drink from a deeper well. The Horizon Texas Conference invites women to step away from the demands of daily life and experience a time of renewal and reflection at a retreat led by Rev. Dr. Jamie Clark-Soles, Professor of New Testament Studies at Perkins School of Theology at SMU.
Taking place from Friday, March 7 (evening check-in) through Sunday, March 9 (after worship), the retreat will be held at the serene Prothro Center at Lake Texoma. Guided by Dr. Clark-Soles and inspired by the Gospel of John, the retreat offers space to encounter Jesus anew, just as the woman at the well did—receiving the living water that restores, renews, and reminds us that we are Altogether Worthy.
Here’s how retreat organizers describe the experience:
"Like the woman at the well, sometimes we find ourselves weary, drained, and feeling insignificant in the face of life's demands. Jesus encounters us and offers living water—a spiritual renewal that quenches our deepest longings. As we drink from our well, we find acceptance and a new identity, and we discover, in Jesus, that we are Altogether Worthy. For two nights and three days, we'll worship our God, abide in the grace of Jesus Christ, and be surrounded by the Holy Spirit as we are Altogether Worthy."
The cost of the retreat is $200, which includes hotel-style lodging, meals from Saturday morning through Sunday breakfast, snacks, a t-shirt, and a welcome bag.
Whether through moments of worship, conversations with fellow participants, or quiet time by the lake, this retreat offers an invitation to reconnect with God, yourself, and others in a beautiful and supportive setting.
