Join the Conversation on Texas Reproductive Policy
Are you concerned about Texas’ reproductive policies? Do you fully understand the state’s current abortion ban and its limited exceptions? A recent poll revealed that many Texans are unaware of the specifics, with 8 in 10 unsure whether Texas allows exceptions for life-threatening emergencies, rape, incest, or fetal abnormalities. Even more troubling, several women have come forward with lawsuits, claiming they were denied critical care, putting their lives and fertility at risk.
The debate around reproductive policy in Texas is complex, and we invite you to engage in this important conversation at AUMC's Common Concerns Listening Circle on October 23 at 6:30 pm (in Room 40). Developed in partnership with Texas Impact, this event will feature insights from policy experts, physicians, attorneys, and legislators across the political spectrum.
We’ll begin with a short video to frame the discussion, followed by a facilitated conversation about the challenges and opportunities in Texas reproductive health. Together, we’ll explore shared concerns and potential policy solutions ahead of the next legislative session.
Come be a part of this critical dialogue to help shape a balanced, bipartisan approach to Texas’ reproductive policy issues.
