Have you been curious about the Journey Toward Racial Justice group at AUMC? This is your chance to see what we are all about! Join us as we discuss Jim Schutze’s bestselling book, “The Accommodation,” which reflects on how the politics of race in Dallas have impacted our region.
The Journey Toward Racial Justice group is a monthly gathering of individuals committed to learning about and improving relations between racial and ethnic groups in Dallas as we work toward the goal of improving racial inequities. We have formed a partnership with Hamilton Park UMC, a primarily Black United Methodist Church, and continue to find ways to meet up for relevant discussions as well as participate in activities focused on racial equity.
All are welcome to this event! We will meet in the Mustang Room at Sonny Bryan’s on Campbell Rd. on July 27 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Attendees are welcome to purchase food and/or beverages while there. We look forward to a rich discussion of some of the hidden history of Dallas and how it continues to impact our community today.
