Would you like to help serve our unhoused neighbors? AUMC enjoys a special partnership with Housing Forward, a local organization that serves unhoused folks in our community. We have the opportunity to donate and assemble care packages that will be distributed during the 2024 Point-in-Time (PIT) count, which is a census required by Federal law that helps communities understand the extent of homelessness, changing trends, and the measure of their success in making homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring.
You are invited to help in one or two ways:
1. Donate items needed for care packages by dropping them off at the church office Monday - Thursday between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm. Our goal is to assemble enough items to fill 25 bags. Each care packages will include:
-a drawstring bag
-a pair of gloves
-a beanie
-socks
-a blanket
-hand warmers
-toiletries
-face masks
-hand sanitizer
2. Help assemble the bags on Thursday, January 11 from 10:00 am - 11:30 am. Anyone who is available is invited to go to lunch together afterward. Children are invited to help in this family-friendly service opportunity!
